The indices and ratios included in this tool:
Do not have diagnostic value, as they were developed and validated exclusively in confirmed appendicitis cases and with the primary aim of developing laboratory-based indices and ratios to assess disease severity, specifically the risk of complication or perforation. Therefore, they are not intended to be used as stand-alone diagnostic tools. Their purpose is to support the classification of disease severity or subtypes within confirmed cases, and their interpretation should always be contextualized within a complete diagnostic framework, including clinical evaluation and imaging.
